We are recruiting for an experienced Junior Legal Analyst to join our team in Cape Town on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Your Role

As a Junior Legal Analyst, you will be responsible for the following;

  • Opening files, conflict checking, organising documents including ongoing file management such as electronic filing, printing, scanning, closing.
  • Creating and maintaining excel spreadsheets, databases, portals and graphic based analysis.
  • Ordering and reviewing documents from the Land Registry.
  • Billing and arranging for third parties to be paid.
  • Pre-litigation to include issuing letter before claims, telephone calls, e-mails, instructing trace reports and taking payments from customers.
  • Investigation work to include prospects of debt recovery and liability where checklists are completed.
  • Engaging with customers, clients and third parties via telephone, email and portals.
  • Working on a case management system ensuring accuracy of data, working with deadlines, key dates and working within SLA Working on a call system engaging with customers working within the FCA consumer duty framework.
  • Supporting team manager on any assigned tasks.
  • Manage a volume case load of matters working from a case management system to include issuing claims for Judgment/Decree, Statutory Demands and Enforcing Judgment/Decree.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience in investigations and problem solving
  • Experience of working within a volume caseload environment
  • Confident managing multiple cases simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a strict regulatory environment
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility
  • Ability to work well as part of a busy team
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook is required and experience in PDF would be beneficial
