We are recruiting for an Operational Resilience Lead to join our Risk & Compliance team on a full time basis.

Your Role

The Operational Resilience Lead will steer and develop the firm's operational resilience framework, including ensuring a robust and responsive business continuity programme and integrating responses across operational resilience areas. 

This role is critical in ensuring the firm can effectively respond to, recover from, and adapt to disruptions while continuing to deliver key services to clients.

The role will ensure that the firm has appropriate operational resilience planning to provide assurance that operations can provide continuity of services to clients. This position will collaborate across the firm to develop, implement, maintain and execute business continuity plans that meet the strategic, tactical and operational needs of the firm. 

It is expected that this position will work closely with the firm's IT and Information Security teams to ensure a holistic approach is taken to managing operational resilience across the business so that the firm can respond consistently and appropriately to operational disruptions.   

Key Outcomes & Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain a robust operational resilience framework that enables the firm to withstand, respond to and recover from disruptive events while protecting critical client services. 
  • Ensure Business Impact Analyses, critical service mappings and dependency assessments are accurate, current and embedded in resilience planning, providing clear visibility of operational vulnerabilities and recovery requirements. 
  • Maintain effective crisis management, business continuity and response plans that are regularly reviewed, tested and capable of supporting a coordinated and timely response to incidents. 
  • Lead a programme of resilience exercises, simulations and training activities that build organisational preparedness, validate response arrangements and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Assess, monitor and report on operational resilience risks, third-party dependencies, incidents and emerging threats, providing clear insight and recommendations to governance forums and senior stakeholders. 
  • Maintain ISO 22301 certification and drive continuous improvement of the firm's resilience capabilities, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations, industry standards and best practice. 
  • Build awareness and confidence in operational resilience across the firm, working closely with business, technology and information security teams, and supporting client due diligence, tenders and assurance activities. 

Functional Skills, Qualifications & Expertise

  • Experience in Business Continuity and Resilience (MBCI, FBCI or equivalent). 
  • Experience implementing resilience frameworks (ISO22301) in a partnership-based business.  
  • Demonstrable technical expertise in BCP documentation, including Business Impact Analysis, Incident Management and Business Continuity planning. 
  • Information security or cyber security expertise/knowledge beneficial. 
  • Experience with scenario testing, impact tolerances, and risk assessment. 
  • Excellent ability to manage stakeholders, driving action and challenging inaction. 
  • Strong partnership abilities; skilled in influencing and motivating others especially senior leaders and working collaboratively across boundaries at all levels. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and manage ambiguity. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation development and delivery.
