At TLT, we are looking to speak with Interim Commercial Contracts Lawyers for an opportunity supporting our Corporate team working on renewable energy matters. This opportunity is offered on an initial 6-month contract basis and is suitable for English or Scottish qualified solicitors.

While remote working will be considered, we would like our Contractors to spend time in the office. However, we remain open to considering strong candidates based outside Scotland.

The office is based in Scotland, so being based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh is preferential.

Your Role

  • Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, NDAs, route-to-market agreements and ad hoc intercompany agreements.
  • Supporting and advising on internal approval processes, including the organisation's Contract Review Process.
  • Providing legal advice to colleagues on existing contractual arrangements, both with and without external legal input.
  • Supporting the UK Legal Team on acquisition and transactional matters.
  • Advising on legal responsibilities, obligations and rights across a range of commercial matters.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential legal and commercial risks.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment on contractual and strategic issues.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society registered)
  • Experience in commercial contracts, or a corporate background with strong commercial exposure.
  • Ideally, experience working within or advising clients in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong technical ability, particularly in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on complex contractual arrangements.
  • A motivated self-starter who enjoys working closely with business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a commercial, solutions-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and provide pragmatic legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
