Role Overview: 

 Based in our Bristol office, this role sits within Transformation and Operations where you will be working with stakeholders across the firm, including Directors and Partners, to embed a culture of high-quality operational change delivery.

Working under the guidance of the Business Analyst Team Manager, the Data Analyst will be part of driving the maturity of the firm’s analysis capability bridging the gap between business needs and technical, strategic or operational solutions whilst delivering analysis and insights across technological, strategic and operational programmes and projects. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Quickly build the necessary trust, credibility and relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business questions and requirements, translating these into clear data analysis tasks and deliverables. 
  • Collate, clean, and validate data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and reliability. 
  • Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities, using appropriate analytical techniques. 
  • Develop and maintain high-quality dashboards, reports, and visualisations to communicate findings effectively to a range of audiences. 
  • Present insights and recommendations in a clear, concise manner, supporting decision-making at all levels of the organisation. 
  • Support the delivery of operational and strategic projects by providing timely and actionable data insights. 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data assets, processes, and documentation within the Transformation and Operations team. 
  • Ensure all work aligns with the firm’s values, professional standards, and governance frameworks. 
  • Manage workload effectively, prioritising tasks to meet agreed deadlines and project milestones. 

Skills and Experience: 

  • Proven experience in collating, cleaning, and analysing data from a variety of sources. 
  • Proficiency with core data analysis tools:  
  • SQL for querying and manipulating data. 
  • Power BI (or similar BI tools) for data modelling, dashboard creation, and reporting. 
  • Excel (including Power Query and PivotTables) for data analysis and reconciliation. 
  • Python (pandas, numpy, visualisation libraries) desirable for automation and advanced analysis. 
  • Ability to translate business questions into clear analytical tasks and deliverables. 
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills; able to validate findings and ensure data integrity. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights in a clear and accessible way. 
  • Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, including Directors and Partners. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Commercial awareness and a focus on delivering measurable outcomes and benefits.
