Contract Senior Associate - Misconduct

TLT are looking to speak to Contract Senior Associates with extensive experience dealing with cases of misconduct to join our growing firm. The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years of litigation experience working on large scale projects. You will be handling a diverse and engaging caseload that involves advisory work, whilst working closely with our Public Inquiry Team.

The role will be an initial 6 - 12 month contract and will be paid a day rate via an Umbrella Company. We are ideally looking to speak with individuals who are immediately available or who have a short notice period. The role will be on a day rate basis, working via an Umbrella Company.

Main responsibilities of the role

• Advise upon and manage a case load of police misconduct files across the broad spectrum of Police professional standard work.
• Prepare and draft misconduct files and attend misconduct hearings and undertake advocacy when appropriate.
• To assist in the supervision of staff in the handling of their own case files and in the provision of general advice to officers and staff on a range of legal misconduct issues.
• Actively take responsibility for training and developing members of the team.

Experience and qualifications

• Qualified solicitor, Barrister with rights of audience in England and Wales
• Demonstrable background in misconduct and regulatory work
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to act under pressure and respond quickly to changing and conflicting demands
• Knowledge of Police Conduct Regulations desirable but not essential
