We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Business Development Assistant to join TLT.  This is a permanent role which can be based from any of our offices (Bristol, London, Manchester, or Glasgow) with some travel to the other locations. 

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Operations Manager and part of the Marketing Operations team, you will work closely with the Business Development, Marketing, Bids, Events and Client Development teams to support marketing initiatives.  

This role will suit a highly organised marketing and business development all-rounder, as you’ll be working across a diverse range of projects and campaigns. You will also collaborate with business services professionals from our FutureLaw, Knowledge Management, L&D, ED&I, Sustainability, Risk and IT teams, so you’ll be an excellent communicator with a collaborative approach 

 

Your Role 

Business Development & Bids support 

  • Producing first draft credentials documents, proposals and pitch presentations to support winning new business. 
  • Helping to onboard new senior hires within the business and  
  • Supporting our Bids team on formal bid opportunities including maintaining a library of precedent text for bids through our pitch management system. 
  • Creating bid template structures reflecting the requirements and evaluation criteria.  
  • Supporting with the tracking and reporting of bid activity across sectors and service lines. 
  • Assisting with collecting and collating bid feedback, helping to identify themes. 
  • Assisting with managing our referees and annual submissions to legal directories

Communications and events 

  • Assisting the Events Manager and wider team with running virtual, in-person and hybrid hosted events, corporate hospitality and internal events including all aspects of event management  
  • Support for marketing campaigns and communications, such as website content, email marketing updates, and video/podcast recording.  
  • Sourcing and obtaining firm merchandise 
  • Managing BD collateral (e.g. event stands and other physical assets) 
  • Supporting with awards submissions and attendance 

Client Development  

  • Help to organise, and follow-up on internal client meetings 
  • Ensure the CRM system is up to date and running regular reports 
  • Support external client meetings and training sessions, helping draft supporting docs / presentations (e.g. client snapshots, team sheets, etc.), preparing client research and collating data and MI 
  • Support on internal and external communications to promote the work we’re doing with our clients. 

Team support 

  • Onboarding and arranging induction programme for new team members 
  • Assisting with reporting on team and firmwide expenditure 
  • Organising team meetings  

 

Your Skills and Experience 

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, able to work well under pressure and drive projects to completion. 
  • Excellent attention to detail.  
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; credible, enthusiastic, confident, pro-active and robust. 
  • Experience of working in a professional services environment 
  • Business Development / Marketing experience advantageous but also good entry level for someone wanting to move into this discipline. 
  • Experience of using BD/marketing technologies (e.g. CRM systems, email marketing platforms, webinar services and website/intranet content management systems) would be an advantage 
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and a keen interest in developing your knowledge of TLT, the legal sector and the clients that we support.  

 

Your Team  

You will report into a Business Development Manager and be part of the Business Development & Marketing team. The Business Development & Marketing team are instrumental in creating awareness of our brand to identify and win new business opportunities as well as delivering for our existing clients. This involves establishing and nurturing relationships and using everything from events to media relations to tenders to explore new business ideas. Within the team, we have specialists in: Business Development, Bids, Internal and External Communications, Campaigns, PR, Client Engagement, Marketing and Design and Marketing Operations.  TLT is different because we live our values.
