An internal consultancy role responsible for supporting the Head of Transformation and Operations on a wide ranging optimisation programme across the TLT Business Services group designed to enable the group to deliver more value to the business. The transformation Business Analyst will investigate and map processes and systems across Business Services, identifying options for improvement and providing ideas and recommendations for optimisation and transformation. They will also provide flexible support to the wider Programme Management Office, a dedicated hub of business analysts and project managers who manage and implement complex projects.

This role is being offered on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Your Role

  • Plan, manage and undertake own BA activities on a range of optimisation projects
  • Extract, document and evaluate business requirements using a range of business analysis techniques agree priority with clients and stakeholders. Use proven business modelling techniques to understand options, efficiencies, benefits and return on investment (if appropriate and budget spend required)
  • Use business analysis techniques to work with SMEs to document as-is processes, pain points and requirements, identifying any potential efficiencies and options for improvement and providing recommendations for optimisation and transformation.
  • Gain agreement and sign off of any recommendations as necessary.
  • Review and update requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to any proposed solutions or changes to ensure traceability of decisions and manage related changes
  • Drive and challenge business teams on their assumptions of how recommendations and solutions will satisfy their needs. Help them to articulate their needs and challenge their thinking. Influence, manage and persuade stakeholders.
  • Where possible, identify where technology can support optimisation and be the liaison between the business units and IT. If required be the liaison between business units and external suppliers and the link between the internal TLT client and the project team to establish the technical vision; analyse trade-offs between usability and performance and agree functional and non-functional requirements
  • As required, identify and track measures needed to update business cases and help realise the benefits resulting from the project
  • Proactively seek to continuously improve the processes and techniques of the PMO team, sharing best practice and knowledge.
  • As the need arises we expect everyone at TLT to be flexible to get the job done. The role may be required to carry out other tasks which for example may usually fall to the project manager or similar.

 

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience covering a variety of Business Analysis techniques across process optimisation projects. Experience of broader transformation, system and business change projects in both agile and waterfall environments also helpful with experience writing specifications for optimisation recommendations
  • Experience working on multiple independent projects at the same time and managing competing deadlines.
  • Proven experience interacting, working and communicating directly with SMEs and stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret the client's business needs and pain points and translate them into business/operational requirements.

  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with experience working with a range of senior stakeholders and subject matter experts at all levels, leading by example.
  • Good technical/IT competency and understanding (role is business focused not IT focused). Excellent Microsoft office and visio skills
  • Results orientated with good time management skills and ability to manage and prioritise own workload and identify conflicting deadlines and expectations.
  • Works well as part of a team, supporting each other and knowledge sharing.
  • Identifies and manages critical issues within a project and suggest possible solutions

PMO manages TLT’s internal major projects and the overall project portfolio at TLT. The PMO supports a wide range of projects from IT upgrades which impact on every member of TLT to office refurbishments, process improvement initiatives or supporting future ways of working for a growing legal firm. TLT Business Analysts are key to ensuring successful outcomes by working with other Business Services teams (IT, Knowledge Management, Business Development, HR, Facilities) as well as fee earners on both discrete pieces of work and as part of project teams.
