We are recruiting for an Associate to join our Real Estate – Leisure & Retail team in Bristol or Manchester. This role is offered on a fully flexible working basis and would best suit a qualified lawyer 1+ years PQE.

 

Your Role 

As a key addition to the team, day to day you can expect to be involved with:

  • Carrying out estate management work such as grant of leases, tenancies, licences, assignments, underlettings, deeds of variation etc
  • Supporting others who are dealing with disposals, acquisitions and refinancing of commercial property (freehold and leasehold), by way of individual property transactions or packages/portfolios
  • Carrying out property due diligence, including supporting on corporate transactions
  • Providing all our clients with a quality service in accordance with the firm's procedures
  • Maintaining and improving relations with existing clients and spot opportunities for business development and enhancement of the current services we offer
  • Working with clients in the retail and consumer goods sector, developing an understanding of the sector they work in and the opportunities/threats they face

 

Your Skills & Experience 

  • A qualified lawyer with previous commercial property experience
  • A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines 
  • Commercially aware with enthusiasm for business development, and an appetite for keeping up to date with the latest developments in your practice area and sector focus 
  • Understand your client’s business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client 
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic team player, able to support senior fee earners and contribute to our collaborative culture.

The Leisure and Retail team sits within our real estate group and has 47 people working across our offices in Bristol, London, Manchester and Scotland. In the retail and consumer goods sector we advise many of the UK's leading retailers and consumer goods businesses- our clients represent over 15,000 stores, 1 million employees and £100 billion of retail sales. In the leisure, food and drink sector we act for pub companies, brewers, attractions, restaurants, bars & nightclubs and numerous other operators within this sector.
