We are recruiting for a Business Analyst Team Manger to join our Business Change team in Bristol.

Your Role

As a Business Analyst Team Manager your day-to-day remit includes:

  • Coaching and supporting the BAs to manage and mitigate risks and issues to project scope, quality and / or timelines, escalating to the Project Manager and Head of Business Change as appropriate.  
  • Analysing and prioritising project demands, resource availability and constraints to scope work and develop effective resource allocation plans and effectively manage workload delivery to time, cost and quality. 
  • Collaborating with project managers, other resource managers and stakeholders to scope work, understand resource requirements and plan project timelines.  
  • Maintaining accurate resource trackers and reports in order to optimise resource utilisation by identifying and resolving conflicts, bottlenecks or imbalances in resource allocation. 
  • Conducting regular assessments of resource performance, productivity and capacity to identify areas for improvement. 
  • Proactively seeking to continuously improve the processes and techniques of the team, sharing best practice and knowledge sharing. Leading the creation and maintenance of team’s documents and processes. 
  • Drive and challenge business teams on their assumptions of how the solution will meet their needs. Help them to articulate their needs and challenge their thinking. Influence, manage and persuade senior stakeholders. Support, coach and mentor team members to do the same. 
  • Assuring high-quality outputs and consistency across the BA team to ensure they provide good quality inputs to other teams, reducing complexity, ambiguity and the need for rework.  
  • As the need arises we expect everyone at TLT to be flexible to get the job done.  The role may for example be required to carry out other tasks which may usually fall to another member of the project team

 

Your Skills and Experience

Core experiences 

  • At least 3 years-experience managing business analysis activity, workload and resources across multiple projects and programmes.  
  • Extensive experience as a Business Analyst, utilising a variety of techniques across both system and business change projects in both agile and waterfall environments with experience writing requirements and specifications for IT systems.  
  • It is desirable that you will have experience implementing systems used in high-volume environments, eg volume case-management 
  • Proven track record of embedding BA processes and expected behaviours across a team. 
  • Proven experience interacting, working and communicating directly with senior stakeholders / end users, acting as the liaison between business units, technical teams and external suppliers.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to competing and changing priorities.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to elicit and interpret the client's business need and translate them into business/operational requirements. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to understand, appreciate and adapt to different working styles and patterns to get the most out of the team and project contributors. 
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with experience working with a range of senior stakeholders and subject matter experts at all levels.   
  • Solid technical / IT competency and understanding particularly within a Microsoft 365 environment.  
  • Results focused with a driven to consistently deliver high-quality outputs to time and scope. 
  • Pro-active in problem-solving while also knowing when to escalate and ask for support. 

Teamwork 

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and cultivate a high-performing BA team.  
  • Works well as part of a team and within multi-disciplinary project teams, working particularly closely with Change Managers, Project Managers, software developers and Test Managers
