We are recruiting for a Learning and Development Manager to join our Learning and Development team in Bristol or Manchester.

The L&D team works within Organisational Development alongside the other HR functions to deliver a proactive and efficient HR service. 

Reporting into the Senior Leadership Development Manager, this role will be supporting the implementation of TLT’s active learning strategy as set by the Head of OD to deliver the HR People Strategy, including designing and delivering management and supervisor development programmes, the wider development pathways curriculum and client workshops.

Your Role

As a Learning and Development Manager your day to day remit includes:

  •  Drive the Learning and Development agenda, using blended techniques and adopting the 70/20/10 approach to learning, act as a key point of contact providing advice and guidance on all aspects of learning and development
  • Work with the business to analyse training needs, develop, co-ordinate and maintain learning programmes to ensure that all learning is delivered in line with business goals
  •  Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes delivered and provide input to continuously improve practices
  • Promote attendance across all development pathways, looking for ways to increase feedback and drive NPS scoring
  • Develop relationships with external training suppliers, e.g. for technical and business skills training and support the OD function in procuring new solutions when required
  • Work with internal subject matter experts to design and deliver workshops and skills sessions as required
  • Work with the HR Business Partner team to increase capability in the firm, align training with SRA requirements and monitoring the development records across job roles via the  LMS
  • Research, launch design and deliver exisiting Development Pathways to support the career pathways structure as required
  • Lead on the improvement of management capability through owning, delivering and evolving the learning interventions available to Line Managers and Supervisors
  • Support the mandatory and regulatory learning agenda, engagement and roll out
  • Lead on Onboarding initiatives, role and relationship orientation, new starter networks and business service collaboration

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to influence at all levels and collaborative approach to working within HR and wider business to deliver successful outcomes
  • Proven ability in learning and development theory and application
  • Experience of in person and live online delivery and online content production including specifically management and supervisory content with an engaging and credible facilitation approach to design and delivery
  • Experience of working with subject matter experts in the design and delivery of training materials
  • A good level of computer literacy – Microsoft Office
  • The ability to work with and understand bespoke systems quickly
  • Project Management skills with excellent planning and organisational skills with good attention to detail
  • Resilient and comfortable working in a complex change landscape with high ambiguity
  • Results driven and committed to delivery with a ‘can-do’ mindset of opportunities and solutions
  • Experience of working with Learning Management Systems
  • CIPD Certificate in Training Practice (or equivalent qualification) - (highly desirable)
  • Experience of working within a law firm and knowledge of regulatory training requirements for the profession - (desirable)
