We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Business Development Assistant to join TLT.  This is a permanent role which can be based from our offices in Bristol, London, Manchester or Glasgow, with hybrid working and some travel to the other locations.

This role will suit a highly organised person managing a mix of regular activities, one-off task and longer projects with numerous stakeholders across the team, so you’ll be an excellent communicator who follows a collaborative approach.

 

Your role
Business Development & Bids

  • Assisting with the production of branded credentials documents, team sheets, proposals and presentations to support winning new business.
  • Supporting the efficient production of these documents by maintaining a library of precedent text, images and experience through our pitch management system.
  • Assisting with completion of standard questionnaires for tenders and client audits.
  • Capturing bid feedback and categorising to help to identify themes.
  • Assisting with managing our referees, submissions, interviews and results in relation to legal directories.  

Events

  • Working with the Events Manager and wider team with running virtual, in-person and hybrid events, attendance at conference, corporate hospitality and internal events including all aspects of event management.
  • Researching and organising activities with a team building element for bespoke initiatives with specific clients and/or referrers.   
  • Sourcing and managing branded merchandise to support events.
  • Managing BD collateral (e.g. event stands, pull up banners and other physical assets).

Marketing

  • Creation of website pages and updating content.
  • Adding and updating content on our intranet.
  • Creation and editing of video/podcast recordings.
  • Support for marketing campaigns.
  • Supporting with awards submissions and arrangements for attendance.

 

Client Engagement/Development

  • Monitoring additions to the CRM system ensuring they are accurate and being involved in regular reviews to ensure it is up to date.
  • Creating new mailing lists for events and legal updates based on search criteria provided.
  • Running standards reports (such as relationship reports) but also creating bespoke reports and exports for the Business Development and Client Engagement teams.
  • Organising professional photography for new joiners to the firm.
  • Onboarding and arranging induction programme for new team members.
  • Assisting with ‘content management’ across the team.
  • Assisting with reporting on team and firmwide expenditure.
  • Creating purchase order numbers and dealing with payments to suppliers.

Your skills and experience

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, able to work well under pressure and drive projects to completion.
  • Excellent attention to detail. 
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; credible, enthusiastic, confident, pro-active and robust.
  • Experience of working in a professional services environment
  • Marketing/Business Development experience is advantageous but also good entry level for someone wanting to move into this discipline.
  • Experience of using BD/marketing technologies (e.g. CRM systems, email marketing platforms, webinar services and website/intranet content management systems) would be an advantage
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and a keen interest in developing your knowledge of TLT, the legal sector and the clients that we support.

 

Your team
You will be member of the Marketing Operations Team which is within Marketing and Business Development. This team is instrumental in creating awareness of our brand to identify and win new business opportunities as well as delivering for our existing clients. This involves establishing and nurturing relationships and using everything from events to media relations to tenders to explore new business ideas. Within the team, we have specialists in: Business Development, Bids, Internal and External Communications, Campaigns, PR, Client Engagement, Marketing and Design and Marketing Operations.  TLT is different because we live our values.
