We are recruiting for a Senior Associate to join our Corporate Tax and Incentives team. 

Whilst our team is based principally in Bristol, we operate national service lines and your client base is not limited by location. We work entirely on the basis that the best-placed individual supports the client. Therefore, this role can be based in Bristol or Manchester, on a flexible, hybrid working basis.

This role can be full time or part-time (3 or 4 days a week).

Your Role

As a Corporate Tax and Incentives specialist, you will provide a premium service to our clients, ensuring the advice and support is of the highest quality.  We expect you to develop into a sector expert and be viewed as a business advisor by our clients. As a Corporate Tax and Incentives Senior Associate you can expect to:

  • Work closely with the Partners in the team and run your own caseload of Corporate tax and Incentives matters.
  • Lead Incentives projects (with appropriate supervision from Partners) and handle client relationships (both internally and externally).
  • Actively engage and drive forward business development and supported in taking responsibility for the development of areas of the practice.
  • Supervise and support newly qualified Associates and Trainees within the team.

Whilst the ideal candidate will have experience in both Corporate Tax and Incentives, we also welcome applications from candidates with a skill set and experience in just one of these practice areas.

 

Your Skills and Experience

You must be/have:

  • A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered), with a broad understanding of UK Corporation Tax, Income Tax, VAT and Stamp Duty Land Tax. We are ideally looking at individuals who are 4-8PQE, but we are open to applications from candidates whose PQE falls outside of this bracket.
  • A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
  • An ability to give succinct legal and tax advice in an efficient manner whilst understanding (and anticipating) the commercial needs and objectives of the client
  • Commercially aware with some exposure to business development, with the ability to maintain and nurture strong client relationships
  • Able to develop a deep understanding of your client’s business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client
  • Eager to contribute to our collaborative culture, with an ambition to assist in the development of junior team members

 

Your Team

TLT’s Corporate Tax & Incentives team advise businesses and individuals on the tax issues that arise in connection with corporate transactions. We identify the tax issues and then find tax-efficient and practical solutions that help our clients achieve their commercial objectives.

We recognise the importance of comprehensive and cost-efficient tax advice that is concise and easy to understand. We advise clients on all UK taxes including corporation tax and indirect taxes such as VAT and stamp taxes.
