We are currently looking for a Sourcing Assistant to join our growing Procurement Team.

You will be supporting Senior Procurement Manager and Sourcing Manager as well as having your own projects. 

Your role will be centred around the identification and engagement of new suppliers, including both direct engagement and RFIs / RFPs, and completing contract renewals with existing suppliers, with a focus on compliance, commercial risks and delivering value. 

This role will require a knowledge of procurement and supplier contracting for proactive contract renewals and ensuring the best value for money for the firm.  

Your Role

As a Sourcing Assistant your day to day remit includes:

  • Oversee the existing supplier database, produce reports on upcoming contract and due diligence renewals and maintain integrity of data within the system. 
  • Proactively contact relevant business areas and stakeholders based on the reports produced ensuring timely engagement with Procurement for their requirements. 
  • Conduct new and existing sourcing and procurement activities to meet requirements from business requesters and stakeholders. This includes contracting directly with individual suppliers and running tenders (both RFI and RFP) with assistance from the Sourcing Manager and Head of Procurement, working directly with budget- and stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts across the firm (Information Security, IT Architecture, Data Protection, PMO, Risk, Stakeholders) for the delivery of tenders and contracts, including working from functional and non-functional requirements, pricing, implementation methodologies and timelines, producing overall supplier recommendations (and scoring where relevant) for selection. 
  • Perform and facilitate supplier on-boarding processes including executing non-disclosure agreements, sending due diligence questionnaires, reviewing supplier responses, financials, and credentials, completing Supplier Risk Assessments (with input from SMEs), and supporting the Sourcing Manager and Head of Procurement in performing terms reviews and Contract Risk Assessments. 
  • Analyse existing supplier contracts for compliance, cost efficiency and consolidation opportunities. This may include benchmarking of contracts against current market offerings for complete analysis.  
  • Support client and regulatory audits (collating from TLT’s supplier database any requested information on supplier due diligence and contracts, e.g. contract exit plans, termination clauses, SLAs).  
  • Work with the Sustainability team to support TLT’s net zero emissions plan, involving engagement with the firm’s principal suppliers.  

​Your Skills and Experience

  • Understand the principles, core elements and processes of procurement and supplier contracting 
  • Be ambitious and self-motivated – seeking to broaden and deepen their knowledge of procurement and their expertise in fulfilling the role 
  • Be prepared to take the initiative in their work – looking beyond the immediate need and understanding how to better support the requirement especially into the long-term 
  • Be perceptive and analytical – not only identifying risks or value opportunities, but understanding what that means for the requirement, the stakeholders, and the firm at large 
  • Be an effective communicator - being able to break down complex positions, information, and commercial calculations into accessible formats 
  • Have strong internal and external stakeholder engagement skills, and building relationships within the firm and without, over email, telephone / MS Teams and in-person 
  • Be comfortable and successful as part of a team 
  • Procurement qualifications to CIPS Level 4 or equivalent would be helpful 
  • Experience in procurement in the Professional Services sector would be of further value
