Introduction

We are delighted to be working with one of our long-standing banking clients to support them in their search for a Contract Team Manager with a background in Lending Operations. This role is on a 12-month day rate contract with requirement to attend the Bristol office at least 2 days per week, so living near Bristol is essential.

As the Contract Team Manager, you will be leading and managing the Lending Operations team providing vision and strategy for the ongoing development of Business Banking lending and technical operations. Experience in banking is essential for this role.

You will be working on a day rate basis via an Umbrella company.

Your role

As a Contract Team Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • The development of Business Banking lending and technical operations.
  • Lead and manager the Lending Operations team from the point at which credit approval is obtained through to pay-out.
  • Managing continuous process improvement to increase effectiveness and reliability across both the Lending Operations team and the wider business.
  • Administration of the business lending and banking system.
  • Ensure quality of work is maintained to the highest standards and the team is working to best practice and adopting recognised risk management procedures.
  • Monitor performance against objectives and communicate progress.
  • Motivate team members through delegation of challenging tasks, recognising individual contribution, giving feedback and welcoming suggestions from team members.

Your skills and experience

  • Extensive and relevant experience of working in loan/credit administration/lending operations function of a reputable bank or financial institution.
  • Knowledge of credit risk principles and practices.
  • Proven experience of previously successfully managing a team within banking or finance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A business-related qualification and/or in-house training on loan/credit administration is desirable.
