We, TLT are searching for a Contract Paralegals have experience in managing caseloads and complex investigations, who have an interest in Public Law. The role will be on an initial 12-month contract working directly with one of our clients. 5 days a week office attendance is required while trials are ongoing therefore, we ideally need candidates to reside within the London vicinity. This working model is likely to reduce to 2 days a week in the office when trials are not happening.

You will be working on a day rate via an Umbrella company.

Your Role

  • Developing an understanding of complex issues in order to review and categorise a wide range of evidence and contracts. 
  • Using e-disclosure platforms and specific systems (full training provided) to implement both relevance and redaction policies and decisions, to provide disclosure to relevant stakeholders. 
  • Taking detailed instructions from fee earners within the team and providing regular updates on progress.  
  • Reviewing new cases from other branches of the client departments.
  • Liaising with the investigating officer to ensure case files are completed to the requisite standard and that there is full compliance with disclosure obligations.
  • Working with the press bureau to prepare press lines.
  • Serving of Regulation Notices and appropriate disclosure to relevant parties in accordance with legislated timelines and guidance.
  • Conducting regular reviews of all cases and engaging with line managers regarding concerns around high-risk cases.
  • Liaising with outside agencies and other colleagues such as when necessary.
  • Attending all hearings and providing instruction to counsel when necessary.
  • Completing all administrative responsibilities throughout each case.  
  • Work on hearings, Including making arrangements with the Court, liaising with core participants, creating bundles, attending hearings and undertaking any follow-up work. 

 Your Skills and Experience

  • 12 months Legal Assistant / Paralegal experience 
  • A willingness to be SC Clearance –arranged upon employment offer.
  • Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility 
  • Previous experience using case management systems or other legal technology is ideal but not essential. 
  • A proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, work under pressure and prioritise work from various stakeholders. 
  • Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and must be confident in dealing with senior stakeholders and external partner agencies.
  • Exceptional legal drafting skills.
