We are recruiting for a Revenue Controller & Billing Supervisor to join our Finance team in Bristol.

The successful candidate will sit within the wider Finance department, as part of the Billing team, and will have responsibility for the revenue cycle of a significant number of partners, practice areas and key clients, as well as supervising members within the team. They will fulfil a crucial role in supporting the firm achieve its financial objectives and become a key point of contact for the business for financial matters.

This is a newly created role and will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to play an important role at an early stage in building a team who challenge and improve the approach taken to billing and revenue management.

 

Your Role

  • To supervise the day-to-day running of the Revenue Control and Billing function in conjunction with the Billing Manager
  • To oversee the successful management of the firm’s E-Billing & portal client requirements
  • Attend monthly meetings with the Credit Control supervisor to assist with resolving aged debt issues
  • The Revenue Controller and Billing Supervisor will be required to develop relationships with stakeholders internally to assist in driving performance and offering a pro-active and commercially focused support to partners and fee earners
  • Attending monthly revenue meetings with business groups to cover all aspects of WIP, disbursements, time management, matter data and billing
  • Assisting with month-end bill processing as required
  • Providing fee earners with client fee information, using relevant TLT finance systems to accurately report matter progress
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring matter data is accurate and reflects client requirements
  • Handling and resolving billing and matter data queries to ensure files are billed promptly and accurately
  • Collaborating with other Finance teams to ensure a co-ordinated approach to delivering a high quality, pro-active client service
  • Assisting the Billing Manager with client and team-specific reporting using relevant TLT finance systems
  • Maintaining professional regulatory standards and knowledge, e.g. UK VAT requirements & solicitors accounts rules
  • Assisting with the management of volume discounts and rebates where necessary
  • Recording and monitoring of various client billing arrangements (CFA, secondments, fixed fees etc.) and ensure progress is actively managed
  • Ensure files are correctly set-up and all relevant information is obtained for e-Billing purposes, and assist the wider billing team with submitting invoices to e-billing systems as required and resolving issues
  • To supervise the day-to-day running of the Revenue Control and Billing function in conjunction with the Billing Manager

  • Previous experience working in a legal or professional services environment including exposure to billing, VAT and disbursements
