We are recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Projects, Infrastructure & Construction team in Bristol.


Your Role

As a Paralegal you will be responsible for the following;

  • Work in both the contentious and non-contentious practice areas
  • Document preparation and presentation
  • Electronic and paper document management including bundles for statements of case, disclosure, trial bundles, project documentation, contract execution and preparation, administration of collateral warranties
  • Potential for case handling in construction and related disputes (adjudication and litigation in particular)
  • Potential for reviewing and negotiating consultant appointments, collateral warranties, and other construction documents
  • Research on client sector issues and legal issues
  • Administrative and clerical tasks in document management
  • Supporting business development – presentation preparation for example
  • Attending client meetings in locations away from the office to provide clerical and organisational assistance to fee earners in negotiation, meetings, tenders and/or court hearings.


Your Skills and Experience

  • Enthusiastic and keen to learn - a desire to learn and develop legal knowledge and legal skills, an understanding of what TLT does and what our clients do and how they work
  • Previous legal assistant experience is preferable (but not essential).
  • analytical and logic skills to be applied in arrangement of materials and understanding of complex processes
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written). 
  • Strong client service ethic
  • Ability to work well as an individual as well as being a good team worker
  • Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight timescales.
  • High standards for your own performance and contribution
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

Your Team

Our Projects, Infrastructure & Construction team have extensive experience in development and transactional construction projects, as well as  dispute management and resolution. We have a significant record of advising on UK infrastructure projects, in particular in the clean energy and transport sectors including on high value complex disputes.

We work with corporate clients of all sizes - global manufacturers and retailers, major national and regional builders, and commercial land developers are regular clients.  We also work with registered housing associations and public bodies including local authorities, police forces and other governmental departments and agencies.
