We are recruiting for a Legal Transformation Specialist to join our FutureLaw team at TLT.  

This is new role and the successful candidate will work alongside a project manager, legal project managers, PSLs and lawyers for our internal and external clients to achieve our internal legal transformation objectives, but primarily to support and progress our Legal Transformation Consulting offering. The opportunity is born out of our continued success in attracting high quality work from a range blue chip clients across our key sectors.

Your Role

As a Legal Transformation Specialist your day to day remit includes:

  • Work with internal and external clients at a function, matter and relationship level, to define problems and requirements for change, capture and map existing and design improved processes, identify the opportunity for technology solutions, agree the data points needed to be captured, analysed and reported on to measure current performance, performance improvement, benefits and value delivered and to benchmark activities against market.
  • Support and/or facilitate Legal Transformation workshops directly with clients (including diagnostics, work allocation and process mapping).
  • Work with internal clients to perform those tasks in respect of service line, team or group performance.
  • Use data modelling to identify appropriate areas of the business where improvement is necessary or should be prioritized.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver design thinking workshops to internal and external clients.
  • Identify and agree the data to be captured, analysed and reported on in respect of FutureLaw team activities to demonstrate financial and other performance and value and benefits delivered in line with strategy. 
  • Support the development of a Data Strategy for FutureLaw including the development of new ideas for using data to augment the products, services and value delivered.
  • Work with Legal Project Managers and others to map processes and resource profiles in the context of pricing.
  • To assist in the development, marketing and sale of FutureLaw products and services, including assisting in preparation of proposals and tender documents.
  • Assist in the development of new FutureLaw products and services, with a particular focus on problem identification, data analysis and demonstration of return on investment.
  • Work with the FutureLaw Project Managers to design FutureLaw processes and resources to increase efficiency and promote best practice in FutureLaw activities.
  • Ensure thorough testing and product road-maps are carried out (alongside a PM or LPM where appropriate)

Your Skills and Experience

  • Min 3 years’ experience as an Legal Business Analyst or similar role in legal teams in a law firm or in house legal department
  • A creative approach to problem solving with an ability to manage critical issues quickly and effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret the client's business needs and translate them into business/operational requirements, process models and solutions and of costs/benefits analysis.
  • Ideally have a relevant qualification and drive to continue to learn and develop.
  • Experience of working with and managing junior team members on matters and projects
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage with stakeholders throughout the business and in clients at all levels and across fee earning teams and business services.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Clear understanding of the latest developments in LegalTech to include (but not limited to) data analysis, reporting and automation. Experience of configuring HighQ Collaborate and other relevant platforms.
  • Keen team player with the ability to self-start and engage with a varied cross section of fee earners across the business.
  • Experience of performing an equivalent role in the legal sector, or professional services environment within a programme team.
  • A client focused approach to the delivery of projects and project planning.
