We are recruiting a Contract Senior Associate to join our Retail Mortgage Services Team within Financial Regulation and Disputes. The role is based in Manchester and offers a hybrid working arrangement.
The position is offered on a 3 month contract basis and will be paid via an Umbrella Company at a competitive daily rate.
Our Financial Regulation and Disputes team is one of the UK's largest teams in the field of financial services litigation, comprising over 150 people across our offices in Bristol, Manchester, London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Belfast and Glasgow. The team deals with some of the most high-profile banking disputes and has taken a number of cases to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court in recent years.
Your Role
As a key addition to the team, day to day you will be provided with the opportunity to:
- Run a varied contentious caseload for our key financial services clients
- Work with the team's Legal Directors and Partners in the progression of some of the most complex disputes in the firm's portfolio
- Supervise junior members of the team
- Provide strategic and commercial legal advice across a range of disputes and claims, working closely alongside senior members of the team
- Participate in business development activities with clients and potential clients, nurturing existing relationships and building on new ones
- Collaborate with colleagues across our office locations nationwide
Your Skills & Experience
We are looking for:
- A qualified disputes and litigation solicitor with 1-5 PQE at a large national or international firm. Experience in financial services disputes is preferred but not essential
- A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills
- Self-motivation with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines autonomously
- Commercial awareness with an enthusiasm for business development
- Ability to understand client business needs
- An ambitious and enthusiastic team player, able to support senior fee earners and contribute to our collaborative culture
Your Team

We act for a range of financial institutions including large UK banks, international banks, challenger banks and fintechs, giving commercial and practical advice to resolve disputes.
We advise across the whole spectrum of contentious issues associated with commercial, business and consumer finance, including dispute resolution, pre-litigation management and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
