The Senior HR Advisor plays a critical role in providing expert HR guidance, supporting the Firm in achieving its objectives through effective people management. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role involves delivering high-quality HR solutions, managing employee relations, and implementing HR policies to ensure compliance and engagement. 

We are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge, is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives working in an environment of changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for a dedicated business area, providing expert advice on all stages of the employee lifecycle and associated policies, procedures and employment law.
  • Supporting managers with employee relations cases including attending formal and informal meetings, advising on performance management, disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability and flexible working.
  • Identifying trends and designing pragmatic and commercial solutions.
  • Working with the HR Business Partners to identify cases with significant risk and escalate as appropriate.
  • Supporting managers with the implementation and oversight of reasonable adjustments.
  • Analyse HR metrics and provide insights to inform decision-making and improve HR effectiveness.
  • Assist the HR Business Partner with cyclical people activities.
  • Actively reviewing our processes and procedures and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work independently and support on key HR project activity. 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • This role has a strong employee relations focus, so an interest in this area of people practice is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships. 
  • Ability to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues effectively. 
  • Strategic thinking with problem-solving abilities. 
  • Strong organisational and project management skills. Ideally with line management experience
  • Experience in coaching and influencing senior stakeholders. 
  • Data analysis and HR reporting skills.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, employment law, and industry best practices. 
  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Proven experience in an HR advisory role within a fast-paced environment. 
  • A client service-focused approach with an excellent eye for detail and a concern for quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, integrity, and sensitivity.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and proactive approach to changing priorities and business needs

The HR team consists of the HR Business Partners, Reward, Recruitment and Organisational Development, with specialists in Learning and Development, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing and Sustainability. Making sure everyone thrives during their time at TLT is the focus of our HR team’s work every day. We provide strategic and operational support to our leaders and teams and our HR specialists make sure our people are skilled, creative, valued, motivated, flexible and committed, working in a culture that enables them to perform at their very best.

The HR Business Partner team consists of Senior HR Business Partners, HR Business Partners, HR Advisors and a HR Operations team.
