We are seeking a talented lawyer to join our TLT Corporate Future Energy team in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to work on renewables M&A transactions, including advising on disposals and acquisitions, joint ventures, co-operation agreements, and profit share arrangements.

Your Role

Day to day you will:

  • Work as part of a close knit, highly flexible team that is dedicated to working on clean energy M&A transactions
  • Support senior members of the team on all aspects of a clean energy M&A transaction including project managing all workstreams and the wider delivery team; assisting and co-ordinating the due diligence process; leading on the drafting and negotiation of all ancillary documentation and supporting the negotiation of the key transaction documents
  • Work for a wide variety of clean energy clients operating across a variety of technologies such as wind, solar, battery, AD, hydro, WtE and EVCI amongst others
  • Liaise with specialists across TLT’s wider Future Energy Team on all aspects of a project lifecycle.
  • Report into Michael Hamill, our Corporate Future Energy Partner in Belfast, and be a valued member of both TLT’s national Corporate team and TLT’s wider Future Energy sector team. 

Your Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you will be/have:

  • A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered), 1-4 PQE, with post qualification experience in clean energy M&A deals, ideally gained in a leading city or regional law firm
  • A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
  • Commercially aware with enthusiasm for business development, and an appetite for keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in both your practice area and the wider clean energy sector 
  • Understand your client’s business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client
  • An ambitious and enthusiastic team player, able to support senior fee earners and contribute to our collaborative culture.

The TLT corporate team covers the full UK jurisdiction and advises on mid-market transactions often with a national and international profile. Our corporate lawyers have a reputation for providing technically excellent advice combined with commerciality and pragmatism. 

We advise on a range of complex corporate transactions and regularly support our private, listed and international corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions, group restructurings, management buyouts, joint ventures, strategic investments and associated agreements. One of the largest teams in the firm’s largest practice group, we are supported by a full range of specialist transaction support lawyers including tax, anti-trust, intellectual property, commercial, commercial property, banking and finance, employment and regulatory.
