This new role within the Legal Project Management team (alongside FutureLaw) is ideal for someone passionate about data, analytics, and continuous improvement. You’ll support the delivery of high-quality legal project data, reporting, and insights across client matters. You will work closely with Legal Project Managers, Operations Managers, and stakeholders across the firm to enhance matter visibility, drive continuous improvement, and support strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for preparing, analysing, and reporting on legal matter data to support project delivery, client reporting, and internal transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Legal Project Managers and Operations Managers to deliver accurate and insightful matter reports and dashboards.
  • Supporting Legal Project Managers to ensure risks and issues concerning data quality and assurance are identified and managed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and enhance matter, workstream, and client-level reporting using Power BI and Excel.
  • Respond to queries relating to matter and financial data.
  • Collaborating with billing and commercial reporting teams to support WIP analysis, invoicing, and financial forecasting.
  • Support matter scoping, pricing, and budgeting processes with data insights and horizon scanning.
  • Cleanse, structure, and analyse legal matter data from internal systems to support transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of firm-wide data strategies and reporting standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting outputs and streamline data processes.
  • Ensure consistent production of high-quality reports within tight deadlines.
  • Delivering high-quality reports with explanations for your findings, clear evaluations and providing appropriate recommendations to SMEs/relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of previous analyses to avoid duplication and share learnings.
  • Supporting the development of case management systems to including ongoing process improvement.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong numeracy skills and the ability to interpret complex data and spot trends across a data set.
  • Excellent Excel and Power BI skills; familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Experience working with legal or financial data, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Identify and track measures needed to realise the benefits from the project.
  • Strong teamworking skills, actively engages in project and team meetings and suggests areas for improvement for internal processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • 2-3 years’ experience with SQL or other data query languages.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the use and benefits of case management systems and processes.
  • Exposure to pricing, budgeting, or financial forecasting.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
